I would love to see this series rebooted and done right by some competent writers and animators that know what they are doing. So why a gave 3 stars? Well, the show have some redeeming qualities (hidden really deep), it can throw few interesting nodes into canon, and it can (barely) expand some known (and loved by me) characters. And I had pretty little idea why - they were so preoccupied with telling viewer what to think, to tell them actuall compeling story. The writers are clearly pushing some agenda - and I wouldn't mind that much, if they would create entertaining show on the way. True - but I can watch awful animation if the plot is kicking, so how "Forces of Destiny" is doing in this department?īoth protagonists and antagonists are poorly writen and developed which leads to unpleasent expirience. I would say I'm guilty of watching some poor series with good graphics only because they please me esteticly.
It's like mistaking simple stuff with simpleton - sounds right about familliar, but actually are oposites. But it's Disney production and I can't really understand what drove them to make that atrocious graphic style choice. If that was the case - I would apploud the effort. Both the graphic design and the actual animation looks like something made by untalented fan.
This series is actively fighting for "Christmass Special" crowd.įirst things first - animation. MLP Friendship is Magic, Star vs The Forces of Evil ( which I consider a masterpiece ), and let us not forget Powerpuff Girls not the horrible remake but the original one which I miss every day I see the new version, but one thing is having a female being the protagonist, and another being trash feminist propaganda, this show does the later. Also it's feminist propaganda, which in my book automatically turns any series into cr*p. A hero is just as good as their villain, and a villain that steals puppies reminds me less of an Evil Empire and more of PETA. I mean seriously ? I know that a thing of dictatorships is that they try to micromanage the life of the people that live under them, but seriously ? Why ban having pets ? What kind of moron would actually enforce such ridiculous law ? What ? Palpatine is afraid that a pet suddenly becomes force sentient and defeats him ? Is that some kind of untold prophecy ? The return of the puppies ? Get out of here. In the plot the new female character fights against a stormtrooper that. I just saw an episode and that already ruined this for me. But this isn't the worst to come out of Star Wars, so I'm cool with it. But now like I said, if this wasn't canon, I'd mostly give it a past for it being a kid show, but is there a downfall to this beyond the canon problem? Well, sort of, As I said before the character designs and the animation look very off. I wish this show could've worked much more to the characters put into this series. The way the characters are portrayed in the series and how they deal with a problem is really corny, and the animation of the show is too weak to support it. None of the characters really feel any similar to the characters I would see in the movies or the Clone Wars show except for the Ewok episode. The reason why this is a problem is because the stuff I see in the series feels WAY too out of character. Now I understand this show is normally for kids way younger than the average who would watch Cartoon Network or Disney XD, The only thing that's making me want to talk about it is that it's confirmed canon. But there is one this show did right the voice actors at least they got them back for the roles. If you want a good Star Wars cartoon I would highly recommend Star Wars the clone wars or Star Wars clone wars. I am just glad Star Wars Rebels which I will review soon and the movies aren't this bad. I am starting to think that ever since Disney bought Star Wars they are starting to turn it into a playground for kids. The main reasons why I don't like this is because the art style and character development is horrible for example Anakin Skywalker he looks like a transgender then a male, the narrator at the start keeps on saying the same thing "The choices we make, the actions we take, moments both big and small shape us into Forces of Destiny" It is okay for the first two episodes but afterwards it gets annoying. But thank goodness I never saw any more shorts and I never will. However, the other short I saw was based on Star Wars the empire strikes back and that wasn't bad. I discovered this show when I was halfway through season 4 of Star Wars the clone wars and I have to say I am not impressed what so ever I watched three shorts of this, two of them were based on Star Wars the clone wars and I have to thank goodness I didn't finish Star wars the clone wars before I discovered this if you are a fan of Star Wars the clone wars just don't watch this you might be insulted.
